Not just because they didn’t have the cash flow they were wanting. These people were dying, hadn’t had food in days if not weeks, some of them had AIDS, or limped or were missing limbs because of the horrible conditions that they were living in. These people were truly hurting. We weren’t able to fix all their problems by being there but we did what we could. We fixed their broken bones and gave them food. Now, I truly know what it is like to hurt.
