How to Check For a Soundcard

August 25, 2010 on 5:00 pm | By admin | In Computers and Technology | Comments Off

If you have a modern desktop computer or laptop then you should already have a computer sound card installed. If you are unable to hear sound on your computer, first make sure that your speaker set is plugged in correctly. If your notebook computer has an internal speaker set then it should already have a sound device installed. If you are hearing no audio make sure Windows is not muting it. The best way to check if you have a sound card installed is to open the Windows device manager. Go to your Windows Control Panel and select ‘Device Manager’. You can also consult your manual.
